OPEN POSITION:
INTERIOR DESIGNER (FF&E)

LOCATION: GLEN ELLYN

As an Interior Designer/FF&E Specialist, we hope you have a passion for working on a range of high-end residential projects, delivering creative, luxury design. The Designer will focus on sourcing custom designs, production, budgeting and documentation of the FF&E and interior selections of design projects. JOB DESCRIPTION:

+ Space planning furniture layouts and selecting and specifying the design elements for client projects from concept to completion.
+ Create thorough and detailed FF+E proposals, manage purchases and timelines, participate in installations and photo shoots, completing jobs with decorating and finishing touches.
+ Collaborate with design team and homeowners to ensure client’s design DNA is consistent throughout the home and integrated into the interior design early in the project, in line with client expectations.
+ Work directly with the procurement manager to ensure all orders are placed correctly.
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors and vendors and ensure FF+E is delivered on time and on budget.
+ Communication throughout the entire project with homeowner and team, to ensure client is aware of upcoming required approvals and that deadlines and information is properly communicated.
+ Troubleshoot any complications that arise with orders or vendors.
+ Stay abreast of new trends that might influence client design DNA.
+ Most importantly, you’ll be equally responsible for making our clients feel comfortable and confident in the team’s ability to manage their project and ensure they, and you, have fun throughout the process!

QUALIFICATIONS:

+ You must have a degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
+ You have to be able to space plan, very well.
+ We would like to see at least 2-5 years of work experience at an Interior Design and/or Architectural firm in the residential or hospitality design industry
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD is a must.
+ An understanding of managing project budgets and timelines, as well as the FF+E procurement process.
+ You have to be task-oriented and have great communication skills
+ Has to be a highly collaborative team player, with experience working closely with a design and procurement team.
+ Quick learner who can navigate project management software (Studio Designer experience a plus, but certainly not a mandate)
+ You must feel comfortable with and able to drive back and forth to job sites in your own vehicle
+ Possess strong customer service skills for interface with clients, vendors and contractors.
+ You must be able to manage several jobs at once and be EXTREMELY organized
+ Relational skills are a complete must. Clients need to trust your design sensibilities as well as feel confident that you’re working as hard as you can for them

COMMITMENT:

Full time: Monday thru Friday – 9 am to 5 pm.
