LOCATION: GLEN ELLYN
As Interior Designer, you will have the opportunity to work on a range of high-end residential projects, performing all phases of interior design from project management, client engagement and management, to design conceptualization to development. + Works with Senior Designer to establish and manage project schedules and budgets for each project.
+ Assists contractor with material selections and preliminary costs for bid.
+ Job site visits to communicate project requirements and design intent.
+ Selects exterior and interior materials for construction, including lighting, tile, plumbing, etc.
+ Prepares design presentations and construction documents, with the team, and ensures the quality of the documents produced.
+ Responds to client and contractor needs and requests, throughout project, to keep project on target with schedule and budgets.
+ Maintains advanced knowledge of building regulations and safety codes.
+ Collaborates with contractors and vendors to select furniture, materials and other interior products to satisfy the design requirement of the client.
+ Coordinates and participates in FF&E selecting, resourcing, specifications and installation of product.
+ Create proposals for product and materials on projects and management of those proposals through final invoicing.
+ Communication through the entire project with homeowner and team, to ensure client is aware of upcoming required approvals.
+ Most importantly, you’ll be equally responsible for making our clients feel comfortable and confident in the team’s ability to manage their project and ensure they, and you, have fun throughout the process!
+ You must have a degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
+ You have to be able to hand draw. Hand drafting / quick sketches and perspectives are
essential in communicating design ideas, especially when you are on-site with subcontractors who want an immediate answer!
+ We would like to see at least 3 – 6 years of work experience at an Interior Design and/or Architectural firm in the residential or hospitality design industry
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD is a must, you’ll be spending a lot of time in there!
+ You have to be task-oriented and have great communication skills
+ Has to be a highly collaborative team player
+ Quick learner who can navigate project management software (Studio Designer experience a plus, but certainly not a mandate)
+ Possess strong customer service skills for interface with clients, vendors and contractors.
+ You must be able to manage several jobs at once and be EXTREMELY organized
Full time: Monday thru Friday – 9 am to 5 pm.
